    We are looking for a Corporate Accountant to join our team in Los Angeles.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Manage all bank relationships and accounts
    • Update and reconcile all financial records and bank accounts
    • Maintain compliance with GAAP and with Federal, State and Local regulatory laws
    • Monitor and ensure compliance with financial/accounting procedures, policies and internal controls
    • Responsible for all day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting functions including foreign and domestic banking transactions and data entry for accounts payable, accounts receivable, general journal
    • Prepare quarterly and annual closing and detailed report package for Parent and Management
    • Coordinate regular reconciliation of all intercompany transactions with other gallery locations
    • Oversee and coordinate the preparation of annual gallery budgets and forecasts and initiate ongoing dialogue with Management re: cost variances and forecast revisions
    • Liaise with and assist outside accountants in the preparation and issuance of annual GAAP reviewed financial statements and in the preparation and filing of Federal, State and Local income tax returns
    • Preparation and filing of California sales and use tax returns
    • Assist in upcoming upgrade of financial systems software and applications

    Skills / Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or CPA background
    • At least 5-7 years experience in a financial accounting role
    • Solid knowledge of California sales tax regulations
    • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
    • Superior detail-oriented and organizational skills with ability to handle multiple priorities
    • Collaborative and hands-on spirit, working across departments and with diverse audiences
    • Proficient in Apple OSX Operating System, MS Excel and accounting software

    We are looking for a Education and Community Outreach Manager to join our team in Los Angeles.

    Job Profile

    Main Tasks include oversight of all educational and community outreach programs.
    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Coordinate and oversee all community outreach initiatives including partnerships with schools and colleges, internship programs, public tours and family programming
    • Liaise with local schools and colleges, as well as other organizations based within the community, to establish and maintain relationships and actively promote HWLA
    • Establish a local, national and international network of useful and productive education partnerships that could result in collaborative projects and events; research and review educational programs to stay current in the field; collate, analyze and apply feedback on the educational activities provided
    • Create and develop educational resources for all visitors
    • Lead and design tours of exhibitions, using both formal and informal teaching, to a broad spectrum of groups
    • Administrate and manage all group bookings to HWLA to ensure that the specific needs, interests and learning objectives of the audience are met.
    • Manage and develop relationships with freelance education practitioners and ensure that they receive appropriate training and are kept up to date with HWLA news and exhibition program.
    • Responsible for the monthly Family Studio program and Garden School Foundation activities; Initiate and manage additional family programs that engage and expand the gallery’s audience
    • Initiate and create promotional material, in collaboration with the Communications Manager, for all education and community outreach activities and assist with the promotion using the appropriate communication channels
    • Collate, analyze and apply feedback on the activities provided and evaluate and measure impact of programs
    • Represent HWLA as necessary
    • Prepare and manage annual budget for Education and Community Outreach, monitor costs and provide necessary information for financial reporting
    • Assist in developing the Gallery’s internship program and provide event-specific oversight for staff, interns and volunteers as needed for education programs
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Skills/ Abilities / Experience

    • A strong personal commitment to community education
    • Ability to develop and implement community outreach programs and partnerships related to the Gallery’s mission, vision, and philosophy.
    • Strong facilitation and group leadership skills.
    • Familiarity with and understanding of issues of diversity and inclusion, with knowledge of how those issues are particularly navigated in Los Angeles
    • Experience working with youth, schools, business, elected and government officials, inter-faith, and/or community groups.
    • Experience working in a leadership capacity with diverse groups.
    • Ability to conceive, develop, and complete tasks without close supervision.
    • Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong presentation, oral, and written communication skills.

    Requirements

    • Minimum of Bachelors Degree, preferably in Education or related field.
    • Minimum five-year experience working with galleries, arts education programs, after-school programs, and with local communities in Los Angeles
    • Experience working with artists and communities
    • A demonstrated ability to lead and energize multi-disciplinary work teams to respond to needs and get results.
    • Strong community network and networking abilities
    • Excellent communication skills, including computer and interpersonal skills.

  • Retail Store Manager

    We are looking for a Retail Store Manager to join our team in Los Angeles. Candidates must be passionate about art and design, as well as possess exceptional customer service skills and exemplary knowledge of retail standards.

    Duties include, but are not limited to:

    • Driving excellent customer service standards within the store and providing an exceptional customer experience without fail;
    • Consistently measuring KPIs to drive customer engagement and customer experience;
    • Ensuring Hauser & Wirth is represented in-store by a team who are passionate about our gallery and our ethos;
    • Maintain a consistently high standard of presentation within the store, including displays/visual standards, stock condition and general cleanliness;
    • Stock control and loss prevention: react to sales trends and communicate regular updates to the Product Development Coordinator to ensure all operational demands are met;
    • Management of the store retail team, including training, performance management, rostering, recruitment and well-being;
    • Regular reporting, analytics and feedback as and when required by the Director of Retail;
    • Ensure all store operations are maintained in your absence including adequate staffing and opening and closing procedures;
    • Engaging with the local community to build relationships and the profile of the store and Hauser & Wirth;
    • Maintaining operational costs within set budgets;
    • Maintaining the security of the shop premises, stock and all shop monies;
    • Responsible for the maintenance of the stockrooms and all Retail back-of-house areas;
    • Suggesting marketing initiatives and events in line with the activities of the gallery;
    • Ensuring all paperwork is submitted to the relevant parties in a timely manner;
    • Responsible for managing stock transfers to other stores and the efficient receiving of stock deliveries.

    Requirements:

    • 3+ years store leadership experience, preferably in a gallery or high-level environment;
    • Strong merchant skills and a history of delivering financial results;
    • Excellent visual merchandising and display skills;
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
    • Proven record of hiring and developing great talent;
    • Experienced in coaching, counselling & conflict resolution;
    • High level of computer literacy, to include MS PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook.
